Telling our stories: Collaboration between teachers, children, students and researchersDuring the keynote speech I will present a critical utopian action research project. The project is funded by the Norwegian Research Council. During the project, workshops and teaching activities have been carried out. Educators and teachers have in collaboration with me, as a researcher, critically examined the practice, formulated reshaping visions and carried out the reshaping activities in kindergarten and school. Graham Smith stressed it is important that the indigenous peoples determine what is the most important to focus on and in the project with the focus have been directed to Sámi kindergarten and school development needs on basis of educators’ and teachers’ point of view, children’s view of traditional teaching, and parents’ expectations on Sámi teaching. During the teachers have developed learning materials, which are a concrete product of the project and the teachers have made the small films and teaching aid, that for example presents their teaching stories.
